Asia-Pacific Agrobiological Genome Symposium (APAGS)
“National Agricultural Genome Program (NAGP)” is carrying out the project involving ‘Genome Analysis of Agricultural Organisms and Development of Functional Applications’ launched in 2014 in the Rural Development Administration of Korea. The outcomes from the NAGP have allowed us to successfully identify specific genes of interest, disease resistant genes, and superior phenotypic genes, which lead to the development of new and better cultivars for quality improvement and mass production. Accordingly, we have held the East Asia Agricultural Genome Scientists Forum (EAAGSF) for the past four years. To make a new leap forward, we expanded the scope of participants and changed the name of the forum to ASIA-Pacific Agrobiological Genome Symposium (APAGS) from 2019 We would like to share current issues and a new focus on agricultural genomics research with you. We anticipate that the symposium will provide a platform that will further facilitate the field of agricultural genomics and establish international networks for agricultural research. We hope to have the opportunity of learning about the current progress and future prospects on the agricultural genomics.
Goals
1.To learn what research projects are going on and how, in APAGS
2. To find an opportunity for collaboration or consortium among the groups of APAGS
3. To set up agreements to accomplish actual collaboration between research groups.
