교육부와 국립국제교육원은 지난 9월 2일부터 4일까지 사흘간 대전 ICC호텔에서 대학 소재 권역별로 「2026년 정부초청 외국인 대학원 장학생 예비교육(오리엔테이션)」을 개최했다.
The Ministry of Education and the National Institute for International Education (NIIED) held the 2026 Orientation Program for the Korean Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) Graduate Students over three days, from September 2 to 4, at the ICC Hotel in Daejeon. The program was organized by regions according to the locations of the participating universities.
국립군산대학교(총장 김강주)에서는 2026년 정부초청 외국인 대학원 장학생으로 새롭게 선발된 15명의 장학생이 이번 예비교육에 참석했다. 참석한 장학생들은 오리엔테이션을 통해 한국 유학 생활에 필요한 주요 정보를 안내받고, 향후 학업 및 대학 생활에 대한 이해를 높이는 시간을 가졌다.
Kunsan National University, led by President Kim Kang-joo, was represented by 15 newly selected graduate students who were awarded the 2026 Korean Government Scholarship. During the orientation, the students received essential information about studying and living in Korea and had an opportunity to enhance their understanding of their future academic programs and university life.
이번 예비교육에는 올해 새롭게 선발된 128개국 대학원 과정 장학생 1,595명과 이들이 수학하게 될 전국 70개 대학의 관계자 등 총 1,720여 명이 참석했다. 특히 이번 행사는 2019년 이후 7년 만에 대학원 신규 장학생 전원을 대상으로 대면 방식으로 진행됐다는 점에서 의미를 더했다.
A total of approximately 1,720 people attended the orientation, including 1,595 newly selected graduate students from 128 countries and representatives from 70 universities across Korea where the scholarship recipients will pursue their studies. In particular, this year's orientation was significant as it marked the first in-person orientation for all newly selected graduate students since 2019, after a seven-year hiatus.
