국립군산대학교(총장 김강주)는 외국인 유학생들에게 한국의 전통문화와 현대 한류 콘텐츠를 직접 경험할 기회를 제공하고, 한국문화에 대한 이해와 국제문화교류를 확대하기 위해 외국인 유학생 46명이 지난 10월 31일 전북특별자치도 남원시 몽춘원 앞 광장에서 열린 ‘2026 전북 국제 한류 관광페스타’에 참여했다고 밝혔다.

Kunsan National University (President Kang-Ju Kim) announced that 46 international students participated in the 2026 Jeonbuk International Hallyu Tourism Festival, held on October 31 at the plaza in front of Mongchunwon in Namwon, Jeonbuk State. The event was organized to provide international students with opportunities to experience Korea's traditional culture and contemporary Hallyu (Korean Wave) content firsthand, thereby fostering a deeper understanding of Korean culture and promoting international cultural exchange.

국제문화교류진흥원이 주관한 이번 행사에서는 뮤지컬 갈라쇼를 비롯해 사물놀이, 태권도 시범공연, 한복 패션쇼 등 전통과 현대가 어우러진 다채로운 공연이 펼쳐졌다. 또한 외국인 한복 체험과 제기차기, 딱지치기, 딱지 접기, 한지 인형 만들기 등 한국의 전통 의복과 놀이, 공예문화를 직접 경험할 수 있는 참여형 프로그램도 운영됐다.

Organized by the Korea Foundation for International Cultural Exchange, the festival featured a diverse range of performances showcasing both traditional and contemporary Korean culture, including a musical gala show, samulnori (traditional Korean percussion music), Taekwondo demonstrations, and a Hanbok fashion show. The event also offered a variety of hands-on programs that allowed participants to experience Korean traditional attire, games, and crafts, including Hanbok experiences, jegichagi (traditional shuttlecock kicking), ttakji-chigi (traditional paper tile flipping), ttakji folding, and Hanji doll making.

국립군산대학교 참가 외국인 유학생 46명은 한복 체험을 통해 한국 전통의상의 아름다움을 느끼고, 제기차기와 딱지치기 등 전통놀이를 경험하며 한국의 생활문화와 놀이문화를 이해하는 기회를 가졌다. 아울러 사물놀이와 태권도 시범공연 등 한국 고유의 문화예술 공연을 관람하며 한국문화가 지닌 전통적 가치와 역동적인 매력을 체험했다.

The 46 international students from Kunsan National University had the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of traditional Korean attire through the Hanbok experience and gain a better understanding of Korean daily life and play culture by participating in traditional games such as jegichagi and ttakji-chigi. They also enjoyed performances of samulnori and Taekwondo, experiencing firsthand the traditional values and dynamic appeal of Korea's distinctive cultural and artistic heritage.

이번 행사는 외국인 유학생들이 대학 내 교육과 일상생활에서 접하기 어려운 한국의 전통문화를 현장에서 직접 경험하고, 문화적 차이를 이해하며 한국사회에 대한 친밀감을 높였다는 점에서 의미가 있다. 또한 남원의 대표적인 역사문화 관광명소인 광한루원과 연계한 지역문화 체험을 통해 전북 지역의 관광자원과 문화적 가치를 이해하는 계기도 마련했다.

The festival was particularly meaningful in that it enabled international students to experience Korean traditional culture firsthand—something they may not easily encounter through their academic programs or everyday lives on campus. It also provided an opportunity for them to better understand cultural differences and develop a stronger sense of familiarity with Korean society. Furthermore, through regional cultural experiences connected with Gwanghalluwon Garden, one of Namwon's most renowned historical and cultural attractions, the students were able to gain a greater appreciation of Jeonbuk State's tourism resources and cultural heritage.

국립군산대학교 국제교류교육원 이성관 원장은 “외국인 유학생들이 한국문화를 직접 체험하는 것은 한국에 대한 이해를 높이고 안정적인 유학생활에 적응하는 데 중요한 경험이 된다”며 “이번 행사 참여를 통해 유학생들이 한국의 전통문화와 지역의 매력을 새롭게 발견하고, 다양한 문화적 배경을 가진 사람들과 소통하는 뜻깊은 시간을 가졌기를 바란다”고 말했다.

Lee Seong-gwan, Director of the Office of International Affairs and Education at Kunsan National University, stated, “Providing international students with opportunities to experience Korean culture firsthand is essential to deepening their understanding of Korea and helping them adjust successfully to their lives as international students. We hope that participation in this festival has allowed them to discover the rich heritage of Korean traditional culture and the unique charm of the local region, while enjoying meaningful opportunities to communicate and connect with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.”
