The 21st century is said to be the age of life science. It would not be an exaggeration to say that everything that human beings eat, breathe, and wear is now relying on life science-based bio-industry.
There seems to be no limit in the future of the bio-industry, such as biodegradable household products for environmental preservation and healthy foods.
As a main stream of the life science, agro-bioscience has developed alongside the history of mankind and will continue to be the driving force behind the sustainable future of mankind.

As we are aware, Jeollabuk-do, Korea, has long established itself as a agricultural region. Moreover, the Rural Development Administration, the base of agricultural basic technology research, has moved to Wanju Innovation City and has become a center of agricultural research in Korea. Meanwhile, K-seed Valley was established in Gimje near Wanju, and the Foundation of Agri. Tech. Commercialization & Transfer moved into Iksan near Gunsan. Advanced Radiation Technology Institute has already been established in Jeongeup to supply excellent seeds to farmers through research on nurturing new varieties. In addition, Jeollabuk-do has recently been designated as a research and development zone by the government on the subject of the convergent agro-bio-industry.
Considering such circumstances, the need for active participation of Kunsan National University as an axis of the development of the agricultural life industry is being raised. In response, with the presidents’s active consideration, Kunsan National University established CECA with professors from the College of Natural Sciences, Engineering, and Ocean Science and Engineering along the department of Biology.

From now on, CECA will play a pivotal role in the development of the agro-bio-industry by establishing a network between competent professors of Kunsan National University and researchers of the agricultural life research institute and creating or engaging in tasks related to R&D. At the same time, we would like to focus all our efforts on the development of Kunsan National University, Thank you.
