“국립군산대학교 전기공학과 여러분, 반갑습니다.”
우리의 몸에 심장이 없어서는 안되듯, 현재 사회에서 전기가 없는 상황을 상상할 수 없습니다. 즉, 전기는 근대 산업 사회의 심장이라 할 수 있으며, 전기를 응용하는 학문인 전기공학은 국가산업의 중추입니다.
어느 공학 분야보다도 오랜 역사를 가진 전기공학은 구세대 학문이라고 오해를 받기도 합니다. 그러나 풍력 발전, 태양광발전, 조력발전을 비롯하여 전기자동차 및 자기부상열차 등, 에너지와 환경문제로 인해 첨단학문으로 인식되는 분야에서 전기공학은 기술요소입니다. 즉, 에너지공학에 있어 전기공학은 학문의 근간과 첨단을 아우릅니다. 뿐만 아니라 IT와 융합하여 파생된 기술인 전력선통신, 전력IT분야 등은 전기공학이 갖는 풍부한 유연성을 보여줍니다.
전기공학을 먼저 공부한 선배로서 감히 말씀 드립니다. 전기공학의 비전은 충분하며, 세상은 무한한 가능성을 여러분께 기대합니다. 땀과 노력을 기울인다면, 아직 경험해 본적 없는 여러분 본인의 거대한 잠재력을 확인할 수 있을 거라고 믿습니다.

“Welcome to the Department of Electrical Engineering, Kunsan National University.”
Just as our body must not have a heart, we cannot imagine a situation where there is no electricity in the current society. In other words, electricity can be said to be the heart of the modern industrial society, and electrical engineering, a discipline that applies electricity, is the backbone of national industry.
Electrical engineering, which has a longer history than any other engineering field, is often misunderstood as an old-generation discipline. However, electrical engineering is a technological element in fields that are recognized as cutting-edge studies due to energy and environmental issues, such as wind power generation, solar power generation, tidal power generation, electric vehicles and magnetic levitation trains. In other words, when it comes to energy engineering, electrical engineering encompasses the foundation and cutting edge of science. In addition, power line communication and power IT fields, which are technologies derived from convergence with IT, show the rich flexibility of electrical engineering.
As a senior who studied electrical engineering first, I dare say. The vision of electrical engineering is sufficient, and the world expects endless possibilities from you. We believe that with sweat and effort, you will be able to see your enormous potential that you have not experienced yet.
