Soil improvement methods
Sand Drain is a process of radial consolidation which increases rate of drainage of water in soft soils by making vertical boreholes. Using sand drains, the consolidation of the soil can only be predicted using a multi-dimensional solution. One of the famous radial consolidation theories proposed in the literature was presented by Barron (1948).
